Tax Incentives

Consumers who install solar energy systems (including solar water heating and solar electric systems), small wind systems, geothermal heat pumps, and residential fuel cell and microturbine systems can receive a 30 percent tax credit for systems placed in service before December 31, 2016; the previous tax credit cap no longer applies.

Photovoltaic (PV) Site Evaluation

Completing an evaluation is the first step towards determining the feasibility and cost effectiveness of installing a photovoltaic (PV) system at your home or business. Based on the information you give us through a phone call or visit, we’ll provide a free written analysis of your site’s solar potential, along with a preliminary installation quote.

If you decide to go to the next step, we’ll visit your site to verify the accuracy of the data, finalize the design, and confirm or adjust the quote, if needed. Then you can decide if – and when – a PV system is in your future! Contact us to learn more.

PG&E Rebates

"California Solar Initiative (CSI) is run through PG&E. PG&E is harnessing the power of the sun on many levels. In fact, over 30,000 PG&E customers have already realized the power of the sun by installing photovoltaic systems – more than any other utility in the nation, and garnering PG&E the title of the most 'solar integrated utility' in the U.S. PG&E, along with our customers, is taking great interest in 'going solar.'"

Federal Tax Incentives

The current federal tax incentive for residential customers is a 30% TAX CREDIT, UNCAPPED. Commercial customers qualify for a 30% federal tax credit, as well as a five-year accelerated depreciation schedule. Visit www.dsireusa.org for more details.

A tax credit is generally more valuable than an equivalent tax deduction because a tax credit reduces tax dollar-for-dollar, while a deduction only removes a percentage of the tax that is owed. Consumers can itemize purchases on their federal income tax form, which will lower the total amount of tax they owe the government. - Source: U.S. Department of Energy

REU Earth Advantage Rebate Program

Redding Electric Utility (REU) provides rebates in support of customers that install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems that meet REU's engineering criteria for system interconnection. REU provides an additional incentive for PV systems that are installed in specific manner to optimize the operation of the PV system for both the customer and the utility's benefit. The specifications for PV system requirements shall be as defined by REU, other sanctioned regulatory bodies or any Federal, State, or local legislation. Click here to learn more.
